We’ve officially moved into our forever home!
We’ve officially moved and we are so super excited! We really needed more space especially when thinking of expanding our family within the next couple of years.
One thing I have learned about moving is; try to be as organized as possible. Planning this move gave me some type of ease but also anxiety on so much that had to be done before moving. I’ve been living with my in laws for the past four and half years and I must say things have gotten cluttered. Who knew having a baby would cause more clutter as time goes on? That’s why moving couldn’t come at a better time. Minus the colder weather.
The Simple Way To Move Into A Home
You always need some type of plan when it comes to a big move. From clutter, storage bins, space bags and more it can feel neverending. Especially, when throwing kids into the mix.
That’s why I’m excited to share 5 tips on how to be as organized as possible when moving.
1. Invest in space bags
Space Bags are huge for clothing. Plus they take up way less space than boxes or bins. If you pack them right you can actually fit them all in a storage bag that normally comes with the bigger packs.
2. Label each box and bin as specific as possible
3. Create designated spots
Once the trucks have been delivered once you are fully unloaded create designated spots so you know where everything is.
4. Create more space
We all have a reason for moving. One could be you have grown out of the place you are in or, you really need more space. Just like in our case. We wanted more of an open concept since our last home was so tiny and we just felt super cramped.
5. Be more openminded on all the space you have and don’t over clutter.
Voila. It will take a while to create a cozier warm home after the move but it will definitely be worth it. I’ll have A’s dino room reveal up soon. Make sure you keep a watch out for it.
The form you have selected does not exist.

If you haven’t worn or used something within the last year is doesn’t get moved into the new house. Keep the clutter down.

Great tips, and your new house looks absolutely gorgeous!! I was really proud of how efficient and organized I was with our last move (I even had garbage bags, toilet paper, and clorox wipes were all in a little bag for moving day). Fingers crossed I can keep it up with our next move! Thanks for the tips!

Kristin's Peppermints and Cherries
Moving is a wonderful time to clear out the clutter. I try to go through my closets and other home areas every three months or so to see if there is anything I can donate, trash, or consign. It’s so easy to fill up the spaces we have, especially with children’s items, so cleaning out and organizing has to be done regularly. Your home is beautiful!

We’re moving this summer, and I love the idea of being specific with the boxes. We usually have the military move us, but this time we’re doing it on our own. I’ll be sure to mark things like “closet” or downstairs bathroom to help us on the other end. great tips!
