Spring is my favorite time of the year. Spring is one of the shortest seasons. That’s why we always use the Spring to prepare for the Summer. It’s not too hot and not too cold. Especially, as someone who resides in New England, the weather can be crazy. I’ve always loved the crisp green grass, flowers and goodies you get to eat. Most importantly outdoor landscapes and garden everything. Everything smells crisp and new. Getting your home Summer ready can be easy. That is why you need to add these 5 simple things to your Summer cleaning list.
The list of what you need to do to get the inside and outside of your home ready can feel endless. Since I’m a newbie, after moving into a bigger place with more land it can feel even more overwhelming. I wanted to share five simple things that are essential when Summer cleaning; and getting your home inside and outside ready for this Summer. Clearly, there are so many to choose from but these five are all you need.
5 simple things to your Summer Cleaning List
Get rid of the clutter in your garage
When you have a parkable garage what’s the one thing that many of us do? Use it for storage. Since it was still Wintertime upon moving we literally brought 99% of everything from the moving truck and placed it in the garage. We recently cleaned it all out which is amazing. We can even park our car inside now.
Plant bushes/flowers
Since we moved into a brand new home there was nothing around. So we went to our local home improvement store and purchased a set of bushes to place right in front of the steps to the front door and porch area. It looks so much better.
Repaint/touch up rough spots
You always notice those dull spots in your home. From heaters, walls, doors and more.
Deep clean everything
With the new seasons that approach; means swapping certain things out. From decor, clothing and even furniture.
Ant and Roach Spray To Protect From Insects
With the warm New England weather comes the bugs that haven’t been out all season. That’s why I use Maggie’s Farm Ant & Roach Killer. Ants are always a huge problem anywhere in New England so I am always looking for something to use all the time. Indoors and out. I love the fact that they stand by their products being simply effective. You know I always stand up for simple and green friendly brands. It’s plant-based so, it’s safe to use around children, pets and even indoors. Plus it contains natural plant oils.
Maggie’s Farms Ant & Roach Killer even has a cinnamon spice scent so you don’t get that fume like smell. Especially, if you choose to use it indoors. It’s a definite alternative than most on the market brands. The best part is you can pick up all Maggie’s Farms products at your local Target. How great is that? Who knew you would be able to get a farm product from Target.
I could literally name a million things to do to get your home ready for Summer. But, these five tips will help out as a start. Don’t forget to pick up your Maggie’s Farm products ar your local Target!

We love in an apartment complex but one thing I do with the changing of the seasons is to move my succulent plants onto the patio where they can enjoy the sun! Much better than under a grow light in the kitchen all winter.
