I finally got A into something other than dinos and was pretty shocked. We’ve fallen in love with the How To Train Your Dragon Series. Since he’s been more immobile than usual we’ve been binge watching so many movies I can’t believe we missed. Two weeks ago we binged the first two films and loved them both. Originally we saw the first two but it has felt so long since watching them. Now that the third film has recently been released on DVD we were so excited.
Last week we picked up the How To Train Your Dragon 3 Walmart Exclusive DVD Gift Set. It also comes with the virtual movie and two funko key chains with characters (Toothless and Light Fury the newest female character in the series)! The virtual movie is so great for car rides or if you don’t use a DVD player anymore. Since breaking his ankle, I thought it would be fun to grab a few How To Train Your Dragon 3 goodies to create a simple DIY How To Train Your Dragon 3 movie night. The first thing is; head to your local Walmart to purchase the How To Train Your Dragon 3 Walmart Exclusive DVD Gift Set today!
Simple DIY How To Train Your Dragon 3 Movie Night
Always making it fun for not just the kids but also any adults that maybe there is a great start. That’s why I set up this little movie station. It’s simple and fun. Plus it gets everyone excited. Almost like if you were at the theatre. Include a bunch of toys from the film, apparel they can wear, popcorn, and the How To Train Your Dragon 3 Walmart Exclusive DVD Gift Set . I was able to snag all of this at Walmart. Because it sold so quick I was able to purchase the DVD set online at Walmart and pick up in store.
When watching How To Train Your Dragon we loved the message and themes around the film. Growing up isn’t something you always want to do but it’s part of life. Especially, when having a kindergartener I’m always trying to find examples to intrigue his learning style and perspective. We loved the fact they introduced a new character and she was female. A loved comparing both Light Fury and Toothless. Plus he thought she was so cool since she was white and to him, his exact words were “she was glamorous”.
Doing a DIY movie night can be so fun. You can also set one up this Summer when you are home with the kiddos and need to get work or housework done. It’s the perfect downtime activity. I’m adding a few tips on how to create your own simple personalized DIY movie night in.
Choose a set up they will love
Since having a busy child sometimes visiting a movie theatre isn’t the best option which is why we always try and make things fun.
Feature the same movie theatre options when you can
Popcorn, candy, drinks. You name it. We loved this tray so he can set everything on there for whatever he needs. We loved adding gummy bears and worms to his popcorn.
Feature their favorite toys and apparel to go along with the movie
Ironically when every new movie we love to go see I always double up and purchase apparel to go along with the film. If you check out our Instagram you will definitely see how.
Lastly, pick a movie: How To Train Your Dragon 3
When they pick their fave or new movie they are more likely to sit through and enjoy it. Plus they have free range to move around if needed. Make it fun. Use blow up or even bean bag chairs. Rugs and more so they can move around especially when having hyperactive kids around.
Have you seen How To Train Your Dragon 3? Have you tried a DIY movie night at home?

This movie is so good – I appreciate that they matched the ending of the book series so well!
We’re currently having a Dragons marathon, watching movie 1, the two Netflix tv shows, movie 2, and movie 3. It keeps the kids engaged over the course of a month or more while we watch a little bit each day. Series like this one are so fun to get into!
Fun ideas for a movie night. We typically keep our family movie nights really low key with lots of popcorn and dimmed lights.

Brilliant idea! My girls would love this! I haven’t ever thought of making a snack box like that or buying themed clothing. I think this would make a great reward for good behaviour! Already planning 🙂

This looks like such a fun movie night! I love doing themed movie nights (or weekends if we’re going to do a marathon of something!) with my niece and nephew.
