Pepperidge Farm® Goldfish® has been by far our favorite snack since A has been able to start solids. Oddly we didn’t start eating the colors until recently and I have no idea why. Honestly the colors make it more fun for him to finish his snack. It’s almost like a switch goes off and he needs to get rid of them. Whatever goes on in that brain of a four-year old.
If anyone knows my son, they know snack time is his favorite part of the day. Literally after any meal he tries to sneak in a snack. At first I thought it was picky eating, since he would say he was done with a full plate in front of him. Then I realized he just likes eating small meals. The issue I have is him snacking on less healthy foods. Finding out Goldfish’s colors are actually made out of real ingredients makes me feel so much better. As any parent you want to make sure your child gets the best in their snacks and food. You can click HERE to learn all about where the colors came from.
During snack time using Goldfish Crackers to teach your little ones their colors and also a little about Goldfish is made can be fun and beneficial. Did you know?
Each Goldfish Color Represents a Meaning:
- Red: The red Goldfish crackers are colored using a mix of red beet juice concentrate and paprika extracted from sweet red peppers. Wholesome and colorful. You can’t beat that.
- Green: The green Goldfish crackers color comes from watermelon & Huito juice concentrates mixed with extracted Turmeric. That’s Huito. Pronounced wee-toe. Colorful and fun to say!
- Yellow: The yellow Goldfish crackers color comes from extracted Turmeric. A beautiful color that makes you think of warm sunshine on a perfect day.
- Blue: Our subtle blue crackers come from Huito (derived from South American fruit) and Watermelon juice concentrates. These crackers have so much fun, they never get the blues.
Introducing Colors Into a Routine:
Weekly A comes home with a weekly progress report. Being home during the Summer his routine became a bit wacky so putting him back into a school routine meant treating him the same as he is treated while in school. Creating a similar but fun report for home helps us track his progress.

This is such a great way to connect with them each day. I love the progress report during the summers, especially.

That is so interesting. For some reason I felt the colored ones would be the least healthy and artificial. That is so good to know they are made with healthy and real ingredients. Thank you for sharing.
Jalisa
Annette DattiloI know and oddly they have the most natural ingredients in them.
