This easy Mint Shamrock shake post was sponsored by Hood as part of an Influencer Activation for Influence Central and all opinions expressed in my post are my own.
One of my families resolutions this year was to swap in more healthy alternatives. We have never been into diets as they never last long. To start we have started to eat healthy and become more active. A is going to be five and I’m turning 29 this year. The thing is, trying to get him to get his calcium and dairy intake at times is a struggle. Like any toddler moms daily struggle. Noticing that he likes to eat and drink what mom and dad do, has brought more of an insight as a mom. Changing our lifestyle when it comes to being healthy is essential. Kids always look up to you. It’s always great to start off small.
This helps in the long run.
Even though we are two months into the year you can’t help but still think about the holidays. We still get those smaller holidays like St. Patricks Day and Easter. They are literally back to back this year. I feel like you can recycle those recipes into both holidays if you do it right. No matter what holiday they always seem to take part in sweets, desserts, and food as an overall whole. Have you noticed how much dairy takes part in recipes? I never really noticed until I started baking and making sweets during these times.
Doing it in a more healthy way makes you feel better about yourself and lifestyle especially when you are super busy and always on the go. Being a wahm/sahm I have been wanting to just have the option to be healthy most of the time.
Finding fun ways to incorporate dairy like this shamrock shake is always a great way to teach your little ones the need for growing up. A is a huge snacker. Literally, right after breakfast, he is asking for lunch. Providing something that is yummy, satisfying and just fun so you don’t feel as guilty. This Shamrock Shake includes only a few ingredients. One of the main ingredient included is Hood Calorie Countdown Fat-Free Dairy Beverage. With just 70 calories, 42% fewer calories of whole milk and only 2 grams of sugar the whole family can enjoy this beverage without feeling they are sacrificing calories. Sugar has always been a huge issue when giving dairy to A. He suffers from ADHD so sugar is a component that we like to stay away from. This goes a long way when wanting to keep your family on a great diet.
Another plus side to Hood Calorie Countdown is it is blended with ultra-filtered milk with water, cream (and other ingredients) for a delicious and creamy taste. You always think to get this is you’re sacrificing your diet but you’re really not. When having fewer calories, carbs and even less sugar than drinking regular milk. I would go with this any day.
Being a dairy beverage that is made with milk from farmers who pledge not to use artificial growth hormones is something I feel any family wants and needs.
To get started with using Hood Calorie Countdown I came up with the easiest Shamrock Milkshake. Just in time for St. Patricks Day.
