Second baby essentials: the ultimate Babylist Baby Registry Checklist

As a mom of one and soon to be two kids that will be farther apart in age, there has been a ton of baby essentials that we just need. Being pregnant with this baby, we were more steady and a bit more prepared so we’ve been purchasing things throughout this pregnancy after turning 20 weeks.

You can never have enough baby essentials when it comes to any baby that may be entering this world. There are definitely a few items you absolutely need when it comes to any baby. First, second, third, or even tenth baby.

Choose the perfect baby registry

It’s been 7 years since baby #1 and everything has changed. With A Babiesrus was still open and that’s who we used. Since then, there have been so many stores that have created their own. There have also been new companies come out with their own universal baby registry. Our two faves have been Amazon and Babylist.

Amazon Baby Registry is great because you get the option to have a diaper fund. You can have friends and family members contribute which is awesome. Plus if you’re friends and family members end up shopping via Amazon Prime.

We ultimately chose Babylist.com baby registry. I live the ease it’s universal and once you link everything you can see other places you can purchase from like Target, Walmart, Amazon, Buy Buy Baby and more.

Diapers & Wipes

With A we got so many diapers at our baby shower we had enough diaper and wipes for 5 months. This time around we have enough for the first month. There are so many different diaper versions than there were 7 years ago. Plus now you can get them on a subscription basis. Our top favorites are on Amazon which you can SHOP HERE and HERE. I’ve also listed a ton of brands below that are worth trying out.

Baby Bottles and pacifiers

There’s are so many different baby bottles ones. With A we solely used Tommee Tippee. This baby we chose from Avent and Nuk. This time around we wanted to try breastfeeding friendly bottles so I also purchased a Nanobébé bottle to see how it works. They also have a starter set you can find HERE.

Pacifiers are more preference but these are our two favorites. You can find Avent HERE Dr. Browns HERE and Nuk HERE.

Breastfeeding Must Haves

Bamboobies Nipple Cream, Lansinoh Breastpads they give you a ton of stuff to try out in the hospital but we have opted for.

Sleep Essentials

Swaddles, receiving blankets, Muslin blankets and we recently purchased this Swaddle Up swaddle that zips.

Baby Gear

We’re always looking at the affordable baby gear. Having a stroller set is an affordable way to pick out a stroller and car seat or you can purchase them separately. Our favorite one is the Graco Modes 3 Lite DLX Travel System

That and we have opted for a good pack n play to keep downstairs which you can also use as a bassinet and also a swing. There are so many other items you can choose from like a Boppy Newborn Lounger, dome and a seat to help them when they can sit up on their own.

Bath Essentials

All you really need is some face cloths, a couple of towels, and if needed a bathtub. Of course, you will need your favorite baby wash. We opt for a regular and nighttime baby wash.

Nursery

For the first few months Baby H will be in our room so we opted for a simple bassinet like the Ingenuity Crosby Bassinet you can find HERE. They also have a similar one HERE.

Other nursery options are cribs. We purchased a convertible crib. Over time it saves so much money. Also a playmat, crib sheets, glider/rocking chair, dresser, and more.

Camera / Monitor: There are so many out there. We opted for the Lollipop Baby Monitor. It also includes cry detection, noise detection, cross detection, Two-way TalkBack, Built-in Sound Machine, Advanced Night Vision & High Sound Quality.

Newborn Clothing You Need

Onesies: You can never go wrong with enough of them. Now they sell them with designs and all. Since this baby will be a Fall baby matching onesie sets are our way to go. We love hitting up Carters and Children’s Place for outfits that come with onesies.

Sleepers: You can never have enough of them. If you love affordable ones THESE ones are always on sale.

Baby Carrier

We tried using one with A and got nowhere. Now they are so popular. We were gifted the Solly Baby Wrap and Baby K’tan to see how they both workout. You can shop for them HERE.
