That moment you realize your regular bedtime routine is back!!
It’s that time friends!! Back to school season is on full force. This also means that routines are trying to be normal again. Throughout the Summer I tried to stick to a normalish bedtime routine. Some nights we were out later and others A could be in bed by 8:30pm. That’s when I start to implement Natrol Kids Melatonin Fast Dissolve Tablets.
I’ve even used 10mg Natrol Melatonin Gummies when my sleep schedule is off. Especially having those late mornings to early mornings when school starts. Switching bedtime from late to early isn’t as easy as you think.
Going from Summer anything is possible to back to school schedules can be hard especially on my son. Since he has ADHD his sleep patterns can change at any time. Kids with ADHD tend to have sleep issues and don’t sleep as well as other children. It is pediatrician-recommended* (*Recommended by the Canadian Pediatric Society).
There are so many different brands but one that has stuck and worked well is Natrol Kids Melatonin Fast Dissolve Tablets. Plus Natrol s the #1 melatonin brand in America, helping millions of people sleep each year**.
When we moved to a new town earlier this year his routine and schedule changed. As well has his hyperness and everything else that went along with it. Change can affect kids in the littlest ways. That’s why with starting 1st grade I want to make sure things go smoothly. A bedtime routine is a great start for him.
Start a bedtime routine before school starts
Starting in Mid-August for the past two years I’ve started an earlier routine. This year we started youth football which means a slightly later bedtime. Practice doesn’t let out until 7:30 so dinnertime is at 4:30PM. Practice is 5:30-7:30PM. Once school starts it will only be 2-3 nights per week. Snack time is right before bedtime since sports does get him hungry.
A won’t sleep more than 8-9 hours per night. Since school doesn’t start until 8:40 his routine still works. Every kid sleeps differently.
One thing we implement is storytime before bed. Ironically “How do dinosaurs say goodnight?” is his fave so we’re always on top of this book.
Wake up refreshed from a good nights sleep is a must for kiddos
Natrol helps him wake up refreshed. Natrol Melatonin helps you fall asleep faster and stay asleep longer so you can wake up feeling refreshed. Waking up refreshed always starts a positive day. Since it also includes 1mg of Lemon Balm Extract it helps him relax and stay asleep which is what we end up having issues from. Simply just melatonin hasn’t always been a fix for him. For a hyperactive kid this is essential. Giving it to him 20 minutes before we start storytime. By the time we’re done reading he’s ready to roll over to sleep.
When the new school year starts or just a change in your schedule as a whole.
Do you combat sleep challenges when school starts? Have you tried to implement a routine beforehand?

Bedtime routines and a good sleep schedule are so important for school-aged kids! (PS: we have that same stuffed t-rex and Dinosuar book! haha).
