Normally packing with a toddler can be rough. But this time around its a little different. As the holiday season is at full force, traveling is almost on everyone’s mind. Even if it is a short distance. The one’s that aren’t travelling wish they were. We’re actually going on our fourth family vacation this Friday. I can’t believe I’m saying this but, we’re taking our son to Disney World. Yes I said it. DISNEY WORLD. I’ve been to Disney World before but it feels so different when your actually taking your own children. Avery is now three years old and is full of so much life, energy, curiosity, and such a dinosaur lover.
Every year we go on a family vacation, which means my sister and in-laws are coming too. We’ve been doing so since my son was 11 months old. We always call him our very own world traveler. ?
This time around we’re taking a different flight. So my husband and I are not flying with my son. My in-laws will get to fly with him. I will say it will be different but it will be a relaxing flight. Especially when it’s a connecting flight.
Putting together your carry on is different when traveling with children and just yourself. My carry on will look more different from it has looked within the past 2.5 years. This time around since I’m traveling on my own with my husband. Below I have linked all my favorite products to carry on with me as well as a simple carry on.
- Fringe Journal: When traveling writing anything that comes to mind right away is key for great blogging.
- Kate Spade Pens: For writing down anything that comes to mind.
- Charger: Every flight varies. Having so many apps on your phone can kill your battery. Having a portable charger can help.
- Beats by Dr. Dre: So cliché I know but many inbud headphones really bother my ears.
- Tustin: This carry on is such a steal especially for a hard case. Plus the color is gorgeous.
- Vera Bradley Duffle: Normally I like to bring big bags when traveling especially if I am traveling with my toddler. Vera Bradley may be pricey but it is definitely worth the splurge. Plus many of their items tend to last long.
- Coach: Having a wristlet is definitely a must when travelling. You don’t want to carry around a huge wallet. I have a similar one that I purchase from the Coach Outlet at a steal. Their quality and prices are definitely high-end. When they have another sale you all will be the first to know.
- Passport Holder: Now a day you always need a passport so this is a must have. We got married back in March and I have yet to change my passport so I am using my driver’s license this time around. I have a feeling my next vacation will be out of country so this will come in handy.
- ELF Lip Balm: I receive this same one in my Target Beauty Box back in July and was completely hooked. Plus the smell is minty which I love. For $2 this is a steal.
- Dove Spray: Normally you can’t travel with a bottle like this but it is a great item to pick up at the airport when you’re in a hurry.

Love this list. I absolutely adore my Vera weekender bag- it’s stylish and functional- my 2 favorite qualities.
Jalisa

Melissa
I’m about to travel for the first time with my 14 month old. Oh geez I’m scared!
Jalisa
MelissaIf it’s a long flight make sure you bring tons of things to distract your little one. It’s rough when you lap them at that age. In between the squirming and having the worst people around it can be a mess. But it will get better once your in flight and everything is calm.
redheadbabymama
I never realized what a lovely trip you can have sans-kids until we had two of them. So much harder!
Jalisa
redheadbabymamaLol we’ve only been on one 3 day cruise without him. Glad too. We got snowed it and it was a disaster. That was a great time to not be traveling with him.
Jalisa
redheadbabymamaOh yes. I remember when I would have trouble packing for just myself. I will say I’m
a master of packing with a toddler but every once in a while it feels less to do when your packing for yourself.

We are traveling next April without our little one for the first time and I’m nervous…but excited! These are great tips, I need to try the Elf lip balm!
Jalisa
Allison RebeccaYou’ll do great. That lip balm is one of my faves and at a great price.

It’ll be nice to be able to fly with just your husband! Your in-laws will have fun with your son and you’ll get a little bit of a break!
Jalisa
Chelsea DamonYes. Even though I know I’ll miss him it will be great for us.

I have never traveled with kids, but I’ve still got a pretty extensive list of things I need! I love your list of things, a passport cover is so important!
Jalisa
theclutterboxblogYes it is. I’m always panicking oh I can’t find it. Then I realized if I had something to put it in it’s just so much easier.
GlamKaren
You are soooo reading my stylish mind with Kate Spade pens! Gotta have pretty pens, right? I mean, how else are you supposed to jot anything down?
Jalisa
GlamKarenOh yes. Love fancy stationary
Paula @ Easy Baby Life
Love your list! I am travelling from Europe to CA soon; looong flight, so I’ll definitely pack some of the stuff on your list – even if I do travel with children, ha!
Jalisa
Paula @ Easy Baby LifeLol there you go.
Joanna @ Everyday Made Fresh
I don’t miss traveling with toddlers. My girls are 17 and 11, and they pretty much pack for themselves these days. I just go back over what they’ve packed to make sure they didn’t miss anything. Yay for Disney!
Jalisa
Joanna @ Everyday Made Freshlol I’ll feel like that some day. But I am super stocked for Disney.
Terri Steffes
I wish I had a toddler to travel with! But, I do understand how sometimes you just need to get away.
Jalisa
Terri SteffesI will say I love bringing my son along but sometimes in between the traveling process it can be painful. I’ve been held up at TSA a few times when he still on the bottle.
reesann723
Travelling with toddlers takes travel to a whole new level LOL. I feel like I never pack enough stuff to be honest!
Jalisa
reesann723Oh yes. I’ll pack at least a week over than I’m suppose to and bam he didn’t even need those extra outfits. But then you don’t pack enough and you wish you had.
Debra
I miss those little toddlers but I know at the time it was hard, oh how times flies!
Jalisa
Debralol he’s only my first. We plan on having 1 more so we still have a while before traveling without a toddler stops lol.

I have never packed or gone away without kiddos. I am not sure how I would do without the little munchkins. I’m sure you will have a nice relaxing flight and enjoy!
Jalisa

Stephanie
What a cute post! After being a mommy and traveling with kids so often it can be easy to forget what we want for traveling!
Jalisa
StephanieOh yes. After the first time traveling I made sure I made a list for the best time.
Roxanne
I have been traveling with kids for so long, I don’t remember what it is like to pack without packing all of their stuff too!! Enjoy Disney!

Suzanne Spiegoski
I’m not a parent but I bet packing for a toddler seems like a never ending task! I’d feel like I’d most certainly forget something.
Heather
I love the idea of bringing a journal with you when you travel! There are always so many memories to write down, and I often forget them before I get home.
Jalisa
HeatherI just started to do it. Especially as a blogger you think of so many new things.
