It’s been 6 months since Baby Micah graced us with his presence. A few updates and read to the end and enter to win a few Nuby must haves.
Colic is officially over.
I am so thankful. Seeing your baby in pain is the worst. Then being a mom who suffers from postpartum depression the constant crying can make your ppd worse. You can find a product we used constantly here.
Half birthdays
Six months has shown me how having two kids that are completely different has molded me into a different mom than I even was before as a first time mom.
6 month milestones
We’ve been able to see how much Micah has changed from day 1 to now. I can tell in our future he will be our wild child and outspoken. A few milestones we’ve already achieved.
1️⃣ He is able to pass objects from one hand to another. ( our pedi pointed this out)
2️⃣ Sight: We can tell he can see farther than before. If I’m across the room and call his name he will respond and look directly at whoever is calling him.
3️⃣ When he laughs he looks directly at the object that is making him laugh.
4️⃣ Crawling: At the start of six months he was crawling backwards. Now he’s able to move his left leg front. We’re still working on his right. ( not all babies do crawl)
5️⃣ Sitting up: One morning he’s laying in his bassinet. I walk into the room and he sitting up on his own nothing propped up just him with his head and shoulders held high. Again every baby is different Avery didn’t sit up on his own unassisted until about 7 1/2 months. So we’ve officially transitioned to his crib.
6️⃣ Solid Foods: Since five months he would stare at you while you’re eating in even want your food so we had started purées but he does like normal finger foods as well. We have been using you me which is more fresh and a baby food delivery service but it’s not full mixed into a purée in that thick consistency. You can also grab our applesauce recipe HERE.
7️⃣ Sippy Cups: We’ve been trying to introduce a sippy cup. He hasn’t seemed that interested so we’re still working on it. We have been trying to use a regular straw which has been working but will keep at using some type of cup.
8️⃣ Teething: His teething game is still going strong. We’ve been using Dr. Talbots teething gel and use plenty of teething toys. Nuby has such an amazing selection.
Knowing it’s been six months makes me feel a type of way. I can’t wait to see the little boy and man he will become but now I understand why so many moms love when babies are in the house. It’s like once they enter the room any worry goes away. The light babies reflect is amazing.
