Mid – Winter break will be here sooner than we think. Since we live in between New Hampshire and Boston. We love finding outdoor family activities. I’ve put a list of New England Winter family activities. Plus lookout for a great giveaway at the end.
This time of year can feel like cabin fever galore. You end up stuck inside for who knows how long especially when it comes to the kiddos and this New England weather. Plus with A and his ADHD, it can be so crazy. That’s why we are always aiming for 12 things to do this Winter with ADHD kids.
I had no idea that four and five years old would be worse than being a threenager or even four years old? The tude I get in some instances is like “whoa hold up”. Then I remember mixing that with his ADHD can mean a whole mess of emotions. Which is why I’m all for diverting his attention. That’s why I’m sharing some great Winter activities to do with the kiddos during the Winter.
Here are the best New England Winter Family Outdoor Activities
1. Snow Tubing
Nashoba Valley Ski are has such a great option for everyone. For the kiddos and adults.
2. Ice Skating at M Street
Market Street has their annual outdoor ice skating rink. Sponsored by Capital One so we know it’s a good one.
Admission
3-12: $6
13-Adult: $8
Under 3 is free
3. Stone Zoo
Zoo New England is always a good time. Their Brick Safari has been extended through February 23rd. Similar to Legoland you get to see all the zoo animals made out of Legos.
4. Ice Castles NH
We went to the Ice Castles a couple of years ago and was so fun. Frozen was the main theme so the kiddos loved it. They had ice slides and at night LED lights. So if you’re looking for a good date night or weekend getaway this would be awesome.
5. Play out in the snow
Our first snowfall at the new house was the best. A had a blast playing outdoors in the snow.
6. Go Skiiing
Loon Mountain in NH has been a go to for so many New Englanders. It’s a resort so lodge and so many activities like ski/snowboard, ice skating, cross counrty-skiing. They even offer ziplining and snowshoeeing.
7. Ice Bar
Not really kid friendly but I thought to add this one in. Stonehurst Manor in Lincoln, NH has their very own ice bar. They literally transform tons of ice into a full size outdoor bar, seating, and more.
8. Ice Fishing
There are so many spots in NH to go ice fishing. Plus it’s a great way to enjoy the fresh air and spend time with your ultimate faves.
9. Enjoy a good drink outdoors
Schöfferhofer, a hefeweizen beer is as delicious as it sounds. Exploding with citrus flavor of grapefruit or pomegranate. Literally blasting with flavor.

Kimmy Ripley (Give It A Whirl Girl)
My daughter Chloe is 9. She has never been sledding or snowtubing. We live in Michigan and get a lot of snow. Thanks for the suggestions!
She is a big fan of craft time. We will have to bust out the craft supplies this weekend!

Great suggestions that most kids would love! Most of my kids loved playing in the snow, but my daughter didn’t really like it. But she went skiing this winter and loved it. We used to have movie nights and pull out the sofa bed to watch the movie. We made snacks and turned it into a big event, I think it was a family favorite. I think one of the keys for ADHD kids is the freedom to move around, so all of these things seem to fit the bill. I like how you’re up for crafts when he is, but never try to push him into it.

I love the ideas! Repurposing stuff (like big boxes) it’s such a good way to help kids express creativity and work out the wiggles in the winter!
