I’ve been on my share of travels especially since marrying my husband. His parents travel at least 2-4 weeks out of the year. Like my in-laws always say “you guys are world travelers”. One thing you don’t take into account is the food and how it will affect you when traveling. Different cultures and countries cook differently and use different ingredients. This can mean sensitivity on your stomach. Even on the toughest stomachs.
I remember when I traveled to the Dominican Republic, my husband and I stayed at an all-inclusive resort. I am half Dominican and love my country. The food, on the other hand, was different compared to what I was used to eating. If I would have known about MiraLAX® I would have definitely used this to help provide relief from occasional constipation.
That’s why today I am sharing things to travel with and a few foods to stay away from.
When You Travel Abroad
Don’t eat like you would back home. You may want to indulge but just be careful about the foods you are eating. Even if it looks like the same type of food you’re used to eating. Batter, fried, grilled, and extra ingredients can be different than what you are used to. In another country, they may only sell fresh (literally just cut off) meat instead of packaged which can taste different or seasoned differently. Since you’re not used to eating this kind of meat your stomach may react differently towards your body.
Foods/Drinks To Stay Away From
You want to make sure you can enjoy your vacation or staycation. If you’re not used to spicy foods try to limit them or slowly introduce them even if you eat them a lot. Resort food can be tricky. One thing I do suggest if you are staying at a resort is to try and eat at the restaurants that they have there as much as possible. From experience, they offer healthier options than going outside of the resort.
One Thing You Should Bring Along
There may be those times you ate too much. When you’re on vacation or visiting different places and experience occasional constipation MiraLAX® Mix-In Pax® is such a great resource. It’s perfect to grab on the go. One box comes with 10 unflavored doses which you can add to any drink. Always use as directed.
It also works great for travel as this is a great and small product to pack. Plus it takes up the least amount of space.
The best part is you can check them out at your local Target in the digestive care aisle. You can find your nearest Target here.
