I had the pleasure of receiving an invitation and attending the grand opening of Home Sense.
Home Sense
Is apart of TJX Companies who also owns Tj Maxx, Home Goods & Marshalls. I was so surprised to hear they were opening up a new home store. They currently only have a few stores in the North East which coincides with their home office in Framingham, Ma. Home Sense currently has one store which is in Massachusetts. Then their going on to East Hanover in September & Ocean NJ in October.
I was able to speak with the PR team and hear all about the Homesense experience. They wanted to created a new home feeling to others. Since they already have a home store: Home Goods they wanted to create something different. Their Canadian stores have more of a Home Goods feeling than a Home Sense feeling.
They want to enhance more on furniture. Normally when you walk into TJ Maxx, Marshall’s or Home Goods you can never find a full set of items like a table set or chairs. Normally you will find one or the other. Home Sense will have the whole set, a couch, a side table etc. Their lighting is under all under $40. Less than what you will find at your local home improvement store.
Creating a larger concept on home items like appliances, canvases and just having the option to create a more valuable space is what Home Sense is all about. They’re even in the talks of more personable canvases. They won’t be in the frame so you will be able to grab them as needed.
Their layout is pretty familiar towards the rest of their stores (Tj Maxx, Home Goods Marshalls) once you walk in. Every season they will have a theme. Since we are in Summer their current theme is tribal.
Their novelty sections were the best. I was able to find a vanity for half the original price.
*I was gifted a gift card for attending the event.
