Hi friends. Happy Monday. The holidays are officially over and we’re finally getting into the groove of the New Year. This past week has been so laid back but draining. One week in and I’m sure everyone wants to try fulfilling whatever New Year’s resolutions they are trying to achieve. That means resolutions are in full force. It feels sad on how we all get forward to the holidays in between shopping, family, food, and fashion then boom it whips us in the face of how quick it goes by. In a span of only 2 months. To start the New Year off drawing off the cocktails and starting off with a delicious pinapple and cranberry mocktail.
It’s almost as if we only celebrate the holidays for the parties which I feel shouldn’t be. It should be all the time. The holiday season tends to uplift spirits for the most part. We shouldn’t have to wait for the holidays to celebrate thanks, love, shopping, and FAMILY. You should be able to celebrate every day or every weekend. Detox is always the word of year.
Like the quote says: 1 Year = 365 Opportunities
When A was six months old I found out I had Post Partum Depression and it felt horrible. On top of having PCOS that can be the worst. I questioned myself at times not understanding why I felt so sad every day but I was overjoyed when I would see his face. As if I wasn’t a good mother. Mind you I was six months into motherhood. After getting the care and help I needed I was able to combat it. A lot of women don’t always think it is okay to see someone because half the time you don’t realize you have PPD. My version was crying about the smallest things. I just took it as after-effects of giving birth since you are still hormonal. After a while, I realized okay this is not normal for me. A lot of it also stemmed from being a stay at home mom and being alone most of the time. That meant time to overthink things.
Since then, every year I make sure to take the time to sit down and think about things I need to reset and detox.

Finding something to do to help me relax is definitely something I feel everyone needs. Starting off fresh but not forgetting what happened over the holidays and this past year is always in the back of anyone’s mind. Being able to find what to keep and what to take out is essential on any level. You can always find simple ways to detox. It’s just the matter of what you want and taking the effort in doing it.
