Ya’ll I officially did. I’m an official college graduate. I graduated with my Bachelors in Communications/ Public Relations and minored in Business Management. One of my ultimate accomplishments in life. Especially by the age of 30. I never thought it would take this long but it’s a great feeling to know. Aside from having A and getting married to my soulmate.
Yes, I’ve been blogging full time for the past year but I will always have a degree to fall back on in case I ever want to pursue something different or just want to go back and find another passion when the kids are all in school full time.
Getting In The Way Of Your Accomplishments
I literally started school ten years ago but in between switching majors and just LIFE. Everything officially changed in 2011 when I chose to attend Salem State University. Then life happened again. Having a miscarriage, rough pregnancy to follow, it was hard so I went down to part-time, took a couple semesters off due to class availability and officially finished back in December. I’ve learned how it really is as a parent and just trying to finish. It literally feels never-ending.
When Should You Take A Break?
If you can afford it and really feel you will push yourself to go back or know it will be more affordable at another time then definitely go for it.
A lot of moms, dads, and even young millennials just won’t go back. They always say it will be very hard especially when being a parent.
“I remember being pregnant and crying to my husband ( my then boyfriend) in the bathroom of our first apartment about how it will be impossible to go back to school so I should just quit now. I’m so glad he talked me out of it.”
Always Do You
I got to have a year of the official college experience. From parties, working and meeting my husband. Then I got pregnant. I felt like it was all over but it wasn’t. Having a miscarriage changed my outlook on life. Especially when living with PCOS. Then I got pregnant with A a few weeks later. I will admit I couldn’t handle school but I pushed through. My second semester during my pregnancy I decided to stop.
In between the emotions of miscarrying before, my mind was elsewhere and I just wasn’t clicking with the school content. When you take a course you’re not entirely into taking in the first place you’re taking it’s harder to accomplish. Just in general. I went through it before having a baby. I can’t imagine while having one.

First of all CONGRATULATIONS!!! Due to a very serious motorcycle accident that my dad got into, I ended up taking off my last year and a half of college and just recently went back in August. I will be finishing next May at the age of 24 and although it is technically 2 years late I will still feel accomplished. Sometimes life happens and it is what we do with it that truly matters!
